Weekly Update – 9th of July

Hello! We’ve got loads of information to share across many games

We reported a few days back that Activision has confirmed our LAN must be 18+.

In addition to this, we’re pleased to state that we’ll be using our own seeding system for our upcoming LAN. Our first seeding tournament will be on Friday 13th of July at 6:30pm BST (click to join).

Seeding is given to individual players rather than teams and points are accumulated over the next four weeks. This will allow you to gather points while competing on different rosters.

  • 1st place: 100 points
  • 2nd place: 75 points
  • 3rd – 4th place: 50 points
  • 5th – 8th place: 25 points
  • 9th – 64th: 10 points.

The Esports Hub is recruiting for several positions.

Volunteer Admins

  • Must be 16+ years old.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Must have a clean reputation.
  • Must have a good understanding of the game.

Admins will help manage online competitions. Processing match results, making decisions based on proof and interacting with the community are all key components of being an admin.

Even though this role is volunteer, we try to give something back. Admins will be able to earn credits to use on the ESHUB website in addition to other ESHUB goods. Further, each month we’ll be putting up prizes which can be won by the admin who shows the most dedication. Prizes will vary from Amazon gift cards to Paypal gifts!

All admins will have the opportunity to be promoted to Game Manager. This role has more responsibility than an admin and will enable you to not only help out with the gaming community, but shape its future.

This week’s tournament schedule is slightly different as Sundays tournaments have been cancelled due to the World Cup taking place! Sundays tournaments will resume next week.

New Rules

  • The use of Nvidia Inspector is strictly prohibited.
  • Players must be from the region that they are competing in i.e. European players can only play in European tournaments and North American players can only compete in North American tournaments.

We have updated the entry process for the North American League. The North American League is now $35.00 to enter. There is no limit to how many teams can compete within this League however please be aware of the roster rules.

You can enter the League here.

Black Squad

Starting on 16th of July, our new Black Squad weekly tournament schedule will begin! Check out the schedule below…

The reward system for tournaments has also been updated. Black Squad coins will not be a fixed prize.

Prizes will not be based on the number of teams participating in a tournament. The more teams, the higher the prize. There must be at least 6 teams competing in the Black Squad tournament for a prize to be added.

New Rules

Please also note several rule changes:

  • Best of 1 rounds are now a total of 12 rounds and not 8.
  • Teams are now not eligible to win back to back prizes in tournaments. If your team wins Black Squad coins, you will not be eligible to win more Black Squad coins in the next tournament.
  • The use of Nvidia Inspector is strictly prohibited.

We’ll be announcing teams that will be invited to our Leagues next week, following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup. Please keep an eye on the discord for this announcement.
