2020 Call of Duty Updates

Posted By: Diomedes | Apr 14, 2020

Firstly, we hope you are staying safe in these uncertain times. We have a few announcements that we thought best to release in a single article as they are all related to each other.

Call of Duty League Updates

After seeing such great success from our throwback Call of Duty leagues, we wanted to share information on what updates we are implementing to make our league experience as best as it can be. If you are actively competing in our leagues, you may have noticed small websites updates such as map count being requested when you report scores and a change of currency when purchasing league passes. In addition to these website updates we will be employing a few other changes:

  • After holding a vote, the majority voted that they would like matches streamed and casted. Therefore, from our World War 2 league onwards the prize pool will be reduced from 100% of entry fee to 90% of entry fee to allow ESHUB to pay casters and production. This will mean that some key league matches will be streamed and the final matches in the play-off. All buy-in tournaments will remain at 100% pay-out and some leagues, where stated, will be 100% pay-out.
  • We will be asking teams to join a discord in addition to creating the standard-social media groups. This is so information is more easily accessible in one place, teams can also find scrims here and report scores easier.

These changes will be implemented immediately, and we will continue to monitor and improve our website to make our league experience the best it can be. If you have competed in our leagues and want to share your feedback, you can do so here.

Looking for admins

Next, we will be recruiting 4 European admins and 2 North American admins to help us maintain our Call of Duty competitions. Although these positions are volunteer, we are able to reward our admins with credits, graphics and promotion.

Admin Requirements: You should be passionate about esports and have a strong understanding of the game you are applying for. Admins need to be 18+ and speak fluent English. Several hours a week should be set-aside to help initiate, moderate and improve our competitions.

Expanding our casting talent

Finally, we are looking to engage with some new casting talent. We understand there are some already established and well-loved casters in the community however with scheduling conflicts there is a need for ESHUB to expand our casting pool.

Casting Requirements: You do not need previous experience casting; however, you do require a clear and audible mic, a reliable connection and a deep understanding of Call of Duty. We are also looking for individuals who are happy to go on camera, enhance their online brand and who stream.

To apply to be a caster, please contact us on social media.
